Server Administration
Server Administration is the entry point of our services. With Spirula's ServerAdmin service, we will ensure that your system is reliable, updated, secured, and monitored for any incidents. Incident handling is transparent on our side, as we believe then even problems need to be brought to the table.
When could I need this service?
We recommend this service for you if you have a single server or a relatively small network, and all you need is to ensure stability and uptime. If you need some other services (e.g performance optimization, high availability, ... etc) then we recommend that you take a look at our system engineering service.
Benefits:
- Full administration for your servers: This includes maintaining and updating your running services and applications.
- Backups: Although Spirula does not yet offer a backup service we encourage you to look into the backup solution provided by your hosting provider - if there is any - and we will manage it for you. If your hosting company doesn't offer such solutions, we can install one for you on your servers, or make some custom scripts, depending on your needs.
- Security services: This includes things like applying security updates, firewalling, and producing automated security reports.
- Automated monitoring with email notifications: This is used to monitor the CPU, memory, hard disk, and network statuses, with history and graphs to discover trends and debug previous problems.
- Incident handling: Incident response is to be within 30 minutes during working hours (10am - 6pm GMT+2, Sunday - Thursday, except national Egyptian holidays).
