What are the systems do you support?
Mainly, we like to work with any Gnu/Linux distribution. We also support *BSD, Open Solaris, and Solaris.
Do you manage MS-Windows systems?
The answer is yes and no. Though we can manage a system that has some windows nodes, we can't implement a pure windows network. In short, we are not Windows guys, but if it already exists in your network, we can coexist with it.
Do you offer hosting? why not?
Unfortunately we don't. As hosting companies are all over the Internet, anyone can easily find good hosting. What's not easy is finding a good company that will manage the hosting for you, something you will need even if you go for managed hosting. So we are just bridging the gap that we believe exists.
Anyway, we recommend that you to host with linode [1] if you need a VPS, softlayer [2] if you need a dedicated server, or amazon's web services [3] if you need cloud computing. Once you've settled on what you want, just grant us access and we will handle everything for you from that point onwards.
Can you manage my site which is on a shared hosting?
Shared hosting is already managed and tightly restricted. If you have a shared hosting and you need our services, step one is to migrate it to a VPS. Contact us [4] and we can help you with the migration process.
What are the technologies that you are experienced in?
You can take a look at our technologies list [5].
Why Free/Open Source software?
Beause we believe that the free/open source community provides better software, and saves you the licensing fees too. Normally, the main reason that business owners do not like FOSS is the lack of support, and that is what we are here for. But technically we believe that FOSS is better than proprietary software in lots of respects, even if it needs customization most of the time.
Why should i be interested in Spirula?
Here are some reasons why you might be interested in Spirula:
- If you are a FOSS believer in general
- If you believe, as we do, that FOSS offers better quality software
- If you need hardcore techies to solve problems that you could not find a ready made package for
- If you don't want to pay a lot of money for licensing fees, and you would rather pay less money to professionals who can do exactly the tasks you need and maintain it for you
