Spirula Systems defends DDoS attack on ArabCrunch

For 4 days, ArabCrunch was under attack. The attack was a normal HTTP DDoS attack but the amount was high so their VPS couldn’t handle and the hosting company got their VPS down. Till they contacted us.

We migrated their services on a hardware server, and tuned its kernel networking parameters to handle extra high number of TCP connections, and put the famous Nginx web server instead of Apache, and tuned its configurations to fit the needs of multi thousands of requests per second and mitigate them. And after this effort, the site is alive again with the use of only one hardware server, though the attack is not stopped till the moment.

We congratulate our friends in ArabCrunch for getting online, and we will continue helping them till this attack is finished.

Here’s ArabCrunch’s announcement about the attack.
